America's Next Top Snack
this could be our future.
At a time where we complain about slopbowls while we propagate messages like “fiber is the new protein” that have Babybel promoting probiotic protein cheeses and Pepsi unveiling their 10g of protein Doritos to be consumed only by the proteingooners that are delusional enough to pass it as gains, one is left wondering what more can be done in favor of emerging brands and helping them in their first stages, to break through. Earlier this month the whimisical Ariel Rubin, who is the Head of Content at Air reached out with an idea of doing something in Anaheim around EXPO West—what if we did a version of Shark Tank but for snacks? Where most conferences come at a high cost of attendance for founders, we thought it’d be a great idea to invite founders to pitch and be able to win a cash prize instead and America’s Next Top Snack was born.
For this pilot, Ariel enlisted the internet’s creative director Oren John, Taylor Lorenz and myself, as judges alongide Air’s CEO, Shane Hedge. Contestants have the chance to win $15K in cash investment from Oren and Air, a week-long storefront in NYC (taking over Air HQ) a photoshoot with the amazing Aaron Bernstein, and a consulting session with me. Brands have until midnight today, February 20th to submit their applications, the chosen brands who will pitch live will be announced nest week. So far we’ve gotten incredible applications and you can actually see the chosen brands pitch live, come be part of a better future for food, RSVP here.

As a greedy girl, I have to ask, why is the cookie so itty bitty?
