I've been saying for years that the sous vide will be the next air fryer, but I guess people don't even want to use one (even though they're only like 80$)
i don't think sous vide is likely to break through now that anti-microplastics sentiment is reaching a fever pitch -- hard to think of a more plasticky cooking method
