BTS: Behind the Snax is centered on getting to learn more about the people behind brands that are staples inside Snaxshot’s community, beyond just their “founder” tag —all to remind you that behind your favorite brands, beyond the hype, the fundraising, the wins and the failures, they are complex human beings, equal parts enlightened and flawed.
Debated whether or not to send this today—considering the circumstances, as a recent resident of the US myself, this conversation was one that felt nourishing to me, specially having it with another person of extraordinary talent also living as an immigrant in NYC.
Ilay Karateke is the co-founder of Bezi, an emerging brand looking to bring a different light to labneh. She’s originally from Turkey, now living in New York City as an entrepreneur building out her brand that is inspired on her favorite dish she grew up with.
I’ve brought this series back as an audio version, one for the convenience on my end, but also because it’s a better way to capture the love and passion of founders, as well as other emotions that are brought up when reflecting on their journeys.
Please keep in mind, this is not edited, but meant to feel like a conversation between friends. The interviews are accompanied by the amazing work of Anna Niederleitner, another extraordinary talented immigrant living in NYC.
I choose to use my platform today to highlight the magic of immigrant entrepreneurship, that to me is to this day, part of the essence and beauty of America.
If this serves as some lighthearted content to help you pass the day, it would be enough.
Take care of yourselves.
